Live the new Trekd de Cachicata or Inca Path is a wonderful alternative from Quarry to Machu Picchu located in the sources of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the outskirts of the living Inca city Ollantaytambo. With stunning panoramic views of high peaks, Inca ruins, while surrounded by a variety of lush flora and fauna typical of the Inca Route in this region. This hot hike is highly recommended for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the busiest walks. In addition to the tranquility, the highlight of this tour of the Inca quarry is our visit to the Inca site of Cachicata, the quarry that supplied the stones used to build Ollantaytambo. This site is rich in history and fascinating experiences, with mummies, chullpas and Inca buildings well preserved until today. The quarry of Cachicata was the place of extraction of the stones that were used for the construction of Ollantaytambo and many surrounding areas. This place is 9 kilometers from the Inca town of Ollantaytambo and has three groups of quarries: Molle Pucro, Sirkusirkuyoc (it was the largest), shows evidence of having been in full operation when the Spaniards entered this area. And finally Kantirayoq or Cacchicata, where another type of extraction of minerals and precious stones was practiced.This is an Inca track that you will not forget a very quiet route

Travel Insurance – you are strongly recommended to take out travel insurance for the duration of your trip.
We will come to pick you up at 5:00 a.m. from your hotel in the city of Cusco, and we will drive along a path to the Pachar valley near Ollantaytambo. You will arrive at the starting point of your trek, the town of Soqma, after approximately 2 hours, where we will stop for breakfast and meet our rider. where we will stop for breakfast and meet our rider. We will begin our walk through a lush valley of scattered farms and crop terraces. After 40 minutes of walking, we will see a high waterfall where we can pause to cool off in the middle of the cool stream of the waterfall. After a resupply lunch, we will ascend 45 minutes to our camp in Rayan (3,700 meters / 12,136 feet)
Day 2 RAYAN - INTI PUNKU - CHOQUETACARPO
After breakfast, we ascend 3 hours until the first step of the trek, known as Puccaqasa (4,370 m / 14,333 feet). where we will have spectacular views of the valley. We will find an impressive view of Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley. Then we headed downhill for 25 minutes to our lunch spot. After lunch, we walk 2 hours with alternative ascents and descents. The last 20 minutes of this segment will take us uphill to the highest pass of the trek, Kuychicassa (4,457 m / 14,619 ft), from here we walk downhill for 2 hours to a site that the Incas called Inti Punku, where there is a Spectacular View of Mount Veronica (5,682 m / 18,637 feet) and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our campsites are 30 minutes downhill from Inti Punku in Choquetacarpo (3,600m / 11,808 feet).
Day 3 CHOQUETACARPO - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES
After breakfast early and then we will walk an hour downhill to the Inca quarry of Cachicata (3420 m / 11286 feet). Here, you can see the work of the Incas, as it was used by the Incas for the construction of Ollantaytambo. You will see several large buildings, stones cut in half and abandoned throughout the site. We will have lunch in front of an impressive panorama of mountains and valleys. Afterwards, we will continue our walk for 3 and a half hours downhill to Ollantaytambo, where you will have time to rest and explore the historic city. In Ollantaytambo, we will take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Once there, you will have dinner at a restaurant in the city and talk to your guide at what time you want to get up in the morning. Your hostel in Aguas Calientes can be updated to a hotel if you prefer.
Day 4 DÍA 4: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
After an early breakfast at the hotel, we walk uphill to Machu Picchu at 5:00 a.m. or take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu (optional bus $ 16 each way), upon reaching the Citadel we can appreciate the enigmatic beauty and the incomparable example of architectural and hydraulic perfection of one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. We will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, where we can appreciate the Main Square, the Circular Tower, Intihuatana, The Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Cemetery, then you will be given free time to walk around the citadel. You will have all morning in Machu Picchu to take photos, maybe to climb the Wayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu mountain, enjoy this mystical place. Then we will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then we will return quietly by train to Ollantaytambo, where our tourist transport to the city of Cusco will be waiting for us, and then we will transfer you to your hotel.
