ITINERARY
1st Day:
Cusco - Huch'uy Qosqo
After the picking up
at 9:00 am we go from Cusco by bus to Patabamba, where we do a
stop for packing our stuff. Then we`ll walk uphill towards the
archaeological site of Qhapac Cancha. This site is perfect for
watching almost the 80% of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then
we will descend to the town of Siwa, the place where we`ll stop
for a while to observe the roof technique of straw in this
picturesque town that remind us the ancient Inca buildings,
which makes of the town a welcoming place for a brief rest.
After the lunch, we get along passing by the Mirador of
Wayllanqaray towards the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo,
where we`ll set up the camp. After a good rest our guide will
explain us about this interesting place. All this beautiful
place is protected by the snow capped mountain of Sawasiray and
Pitusiray, spectacular Apus of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

2ND Day:
Huchuy Qosqo - Chinchero - Cusco
After a healthy
breakfast we will climb northeast to the Yanaqhaqa, and after
passing the forest valley of the Canyon of Pucaqaqa, we'll
arrive to the pre-inca terraces of the Lucre culture, where we
do a stop for resting. Then we'll climb up to the Wallataqasa
Pass (4240 m./13,910 ft.) where we will admire the landscape of
the authentic Andean Highlands. Then, after enjoying this site
we`ll descend to the Tauca village (3850 m./12,631 ft.) near of
the lagoon Piuray, where a bus is waiting for us. Some minutes
later after the picking-up we will drive about 15 minutes to
Chinchero, where we`ll stop for shopping and visiting the market

We Provide:
Private transport to
Patabamba (starting town of the trek) and from Chinchero; all
camping and cooking equipment including good quality mattresses,
big enough tents for four persons, dinning (tables and
chairs)and cook tent, extensive first-aid kit, including oxygen;
professional English and Spanish speaking guides trained in
first-aid and C.P.R. Mules and cook team, all meals whilst
trekking, included as indicated in the itinerary (B = Breakfast,
L = Lunch, D = Dinner).
Not Included
• Breakfast on the
first day and dinner on the last day.
• Sleeping bag.
• Extra mule or
horse (for asking before departing).
• Archaeological
sites entrance fees in Chinchero.

Equipment
List
On this expedition
we will be experiencing all extremes of the Peruvian weather,
from the freezing Altiplano to an extremely hot sunshine. During
the day hopefully it will be generally sunny enough for shorts
and T-shirts, though having a fleece and rain gear handy is
advisable. It will get cold especially in the evenings so bring
a warm fleece jacket, a good waterproof and some warm clothes
including thermal underwear, gloves, scarf and woolly hat as
well as one set of smarter clothes for Cusco. Good quality
Alpaca jumpers are available in Cusco. A good quality sleeping
bag is essential for your enjoyment of this trip.

Please
notice:
The mules carry all
your heavy camping gear but this is inaccessible during the day
so please bring a small day-pack to carry your personal day gear
in - ie water-bottle, iodine tablets, camera, sun-block, insect
repellent, light fleece and rain jacket.
Any excess gear may
be stored in Cusco at your hotel.
Most good quality
sporting equipment is unavailable in Perù so if anyone wishes to
donate any outdoor clothes, sleeping bags etc they will be
gratefully received by anyone of our staff.
