SCHEDULE
OF BOAT Uros Taquile Excursion 1 Day :
We pick you up from your hotel about 6:30 am. to
leave at 7:00 in the direction of the island of the Uros. A boat
will sail approximately 02:00 am arriving at the famous floating
islands. These islands are made of reed throw, a plant that the
mother nature
provides them. The maggot in the lake has a special property,
thanks to which the local people build their houses. On the
other hand, they use it for the construction of its anchorage.
Besides, the villagers
use this material for the production of handicrafts. They are also
engaged in fishing and hunting. Their native languages are the
Quechua and the Aymara.
Later, visit to the Taquile island, the inhabitants of this
island are artisans on wool
textile products. The island is 1 km. wide and 6-7 km long. It
has the peculiarity of having a stone
staircase of 533 steps to climb to the village and because the
altitude is a bit heavy grabs the rise.
(13,000 feet above sea level). On Taquile there are numerous
archaeological pre-Inca and Inca archaeological remains. We will
be returning to Puno in the afternoon.
