DEPARTURES FROM CUSCO. THE NAZCA LINES & PRE-INCA CEMETERY OF
CHAUCHILLA. 1 DAY 1 NIGHT:
 Day1:
Transfer from your hotel in Cusco, approx at 16:20pm. From Cusco
you`ll take a bus at 17:00 pm heading for Nazca, arriving at
approx 05:45 am. Our representantive in Nazca will wait for you
at the bus terminal and then transferred you to your hotel.
There are a couple of local restaurants nearby where you can
have your breakfast.
The Nazca
Lines.
Between 8 and 8.30am you are transferred to the Nazca Aerodromo
for your flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines. Approximately
35 minutes flying over this enigmatic zone, where hundreds of
years ago ancient Peruvians drew huge designs, which can be seen
only from the air. Among the figures we`ll see an enormous
representation of a monkey, a hummingbird, a condor, and a
strange creature known as the Spaceman.The Nazca Lines have been
studied for almost a whole life by the german archeologist Maria
Reiche.
The Cementery
of Chauchilla.
Afterwards, we will visit the pre-Inca cementry of Chauchilla.
For many years this pre-Inca site was looted by treasure
hunters, who ransacked the place completely, taking away all its
treasures. The mummies kept in their tombs were for centuries
mute witnesses of this pillage. These grave robbers just left
behind the corpses, which can be seen today all over the ground.
In addition to skulls and bones, you can also see several
century old tombs, as well as long human hairs, pottery
fragments and others remains scattered on the desert surface.
After touring around we go back to Nazca to visit a ceramic
studio, where a craftsman will give us a better insight into the
Nazca Civilization and the colourful vessels they made hundreds
of years ago. A local factory with the process of gold
extraction will be also visited. Free time for lunch.
Transfer back to the hotel to pick up your luggage. At 13:00
hrs. pm transfer to the bus terminal for the 13.30pm bus towards
Lima, arriving at approx 8.30 pm.
