INCA TRAIL TO MAUCALLAQTA 2
DAYS / 1 NIGHT INTRODUCTION:
This is a beautiful long walk along little
Andean villages towards the Puma Orqo's rock, where it is said took place the
brothers Ayar's legend, ( myth
which explains the foundation of the Inca empire by Manco Capac). This mystic
tour ends up in the Maucallaqta's archeological pre-Inca center, where
archeologists' team has been working in during years on its restaration. The
altitude along this route varies between 2900 M.A.S.L and 3350 M.A.S.L.

DAYS / 1 NIGHT ITINERARY :
First Day on INCA TRAIL TO
MAUCALLAQTA: Cusco Yaurisque
Pallata Puma Orqo - Maucallacta Stretch
Transfer from Cusco to Yaurisque, starting point of the trek. Optional visit to
the hot springs close to Yaurisque. From there we`ll begin this very mystic tour
about which we can say it is a walking towards the origin of this great empire. We`ll walk around Andean landscapes on which we`ll visit the
Pallata's
archeological remains, going downwards to Puma Orqo, rock carved with pumas.
Advancing an hour more, we arrive to Maucallaqta. We camp close to the
archeological site.
Second Dayon INCA TRAIL TO
MAUCALLAQTA: Maucallacta - Cusco
Stretch
After a restoring breakfast, we`ll begin a guided visit to the Maucallacta's
archeological center. Lunch. Next we walk downwards to the Huaynacancha Hacienda
to take the transportation back to the Cusco.
